In the Lofoten Islands at the moment. Very beautiful but bad weather... no sun. No midnight sun. Had trouble getting here as the ferry was busted so had to get a bus for 6 hours. Met some friendly Swedes on the bus who were nice. Didn´t have time to stay in A, so spending 3 nights in Kabelvag close to Svolvaer. The weather gets better Thursday when I leave :/

Liking being alone here... it´s a nice feeling with just he scenery. I seem to be the only non Norwegian tourist here. Pretty deserted.

I have one more day...probably go to Henningsvaer. Then back to Narvik and a flight to Oslo the next day. Stockholm next and then into Germany for Wacken! just over a week to go now!

Hope you´re all well!

:)

xox d

In Bergen at the moment. Beautiful quaint little town on the water. Was supposed to go to Geirangerfjorden tomorrow but just found out from the tourist office that its near impossible to get there by bus in a day. So those plans have been shattered. I'll have to throw away the plane ticket I had from Trondheim to Oslo now too. Instead I'll train it back to Oslo and get the 2nd half of my flight from there to Harstad/Narvik to explore the Lofoten islands for 5 days.

Been drinking and not sleeping way too much. Got 10 hours sleep last night which is my best effort in weeks. 4 hours is the maximum Ive been getting for the past couple of weeks. My body needs detox.

Left my Luxembourg friends yesterday. Sad. But things move on. Before I know it I'll be in Germany. Only another 10 more days.

Things are SO expensive here. It's such a gorgeous country though. Reminds me alot of Switzerland.

Not much else to speak of. Loved Stockholm. Ill be back there for another day of two before I head to Germany which will be rad. Such a great city with awesome buildings and water everywhere.

The boat from Helsinki to Stockholm was awful. 16 hours and totally not a party boat like they say. Well unless you bring a group of friends along I guess.... luckily I met some cool Finnish dudes who gave me a bed in their cabin for about 4/5 hours.

Tallinn was the BEST! Ended up staying there for over a week. Met some really awesome people there and had a blast.

This summer has been the best! And it's not even over yet! :D

Love to all...

xx d

In Finland now. On a day trip from Kuopio to Savonlinna. Up in the Lakes District. Very beautiful! Everyone here looks like Ari's brother..hahaha.

Enjoying things at the moment. Liking the solitude and peacefulness of the lakes and forests here. Got a huge day tomorrow. Getting a train at 6am to Turku from Kuopio, then seeing Turku and Naatali in one day! THEN I have to get a train to Helsinki at around 6pm. That gets in at 8pm for a ferry back to Estonia at 9pm. Ill get back to Tallinn around midnight. Then I'll probably either see a bit more of Estonia for a week, or go to Latvia. Possibly Lithuania, but I dont think Ill have the time.

Missing certain things about home. So many places remind me of it.

Hope everyone is doing well. People are so friendly (must be the beer). The World Cup is almost over, but my time in Germany will end even sooner (I leave for Estonia tomorrow). I can't believe it's all coming to an end. It's been the biggest and greatest experience of my life. I will be trying my hardest to get to South Africa in 4 years time.

All you people who decided not to come to Germany for it have missed out on the greatest experience ever. Sorry to say it, but it's just been phenomenal.

It's so hard to get back into traveling mode. Almost impossible. I just want to live in Germany and never want to leave.

Im soooo sad right now :(

Anyway, must push on.

Love danni xox

So that game was kinda shite. Alot of tension here after it. Words thrown around. Almost some fights. Mainly due to the fact that there were so many people in Italian jerseys who werent actually Italian rubbing in the loss and being arseholes (funnily enough alot of Americnas... didnt know they hated us so much). Kinda like the Netherlands vs Portugal game with the Germans.

I met some Dutch boys who gave me a flag to wear and took care of me. They also found me some clogs to try on. They were great, but in tears after the game. Tickets were going for 1000 euro, but Im glad I didnt sell mine. It was a great match apart from the fact that people were diving left right and centre. 14 yellow cards and 4 red I think? Ridiculous.

Munich is about 60 degrees today. Im dripping in sweat. Couldnt sleep past 10 and got in at 4 to 5am. Worst hangover ever.

Berlin tomorrow. Thinking of trying to get tickets for the next game against Italy. Although theyre available tomorrow and Id have to get back to Stuttgart. Only 1,500 of them too...So crap. Hiring a car could be a good option.... Im just so greedy now I want to see moreeeeee.

Its such a downer today after a great night.
In Budapest at the moment.
Going to lake Balaton tomorrow. A beautiful lake in Hungary about 3 hours away.
Im so relieved to get out of France. Man I hate French. The most annoying language. The sound of it makes my skin crawl. Just such an awful sound. I must be the only one that thinks that way huh? Oh and they all seem to be afraid of flying. They broke out into song at one point. Laden with gasps. The lady sitting behind me should have been retarded. It was like she was punching my seat the whole way and shouting at her husband so loud I could hear it over my ipod. All that said I enjoyed Paris alot more this time!! haha...

Ive realised its very easy to get annoyed with selfish people while travelling. I have no tolerance. Ladies pushing in in queues at the airport, and the supermarket... and acting as if its totally normal. Man I hope they get bad karma.
Soooo it was colder in Germany in SUMMER than Australia in WINTER today!
So stupid. 13 degrees...
I think I might be getting sick. Bit of a sore throat. My shoes smell like mold too.. from being wet so much.
Rained all day. This summer has been so crappy in Europe this year.

London.. well Oxford tomorrow. Its warm there apparently. High of 25 degrees. At least it'll be warmer there.

About to watch Sin City on the DVD we burnt off the net... well Nick's flatmate.
:D They also have Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... might watch that tomorrow. :)

Jon is in debt.. so not much sightseeing with a tour guide.

Anyways... more later after I settle in England.
Pray I dont get bombed by crazy terrorists.

Ps. Tim dont think you got my msg reply from Wacken about when I come home. Something weird about the numbers there..
Answer is: not sure. :)

So... the entry everyoneś been waiting for... my adventures at Wacken.

Worst weather EVERRR!!!
Sliding around in the mud and watching bands in the rain in freezing temperatures. Must have been max of 5 degrees one night there...

Didnt shower the whole time... had to go to the toilet in poo ridden port-a-looś. Like seriously had shit all over the walls and next to the seat. They piled up so high it came above the toilet seat.
Lucky there were some nicer flushing toilets in the band area.

Suffocation were the most amazing live band ever. Theyre way up there on my list. SO tight. SO amazing... really took my breath away. Best sound at this festival too. Very well organised.

Bloodbath were SICK! with Mikael singing which was a nice suprise. (no one knew whod take the spot until they walked on stage).
First show ever and Mikael mentioned it would be his last show ever with Bloodbath.. so suck poo everyone! hahaha...

Obituary were awesome as I already knew from seeing them at Furyfest.

Dissection were really really awesome too.

Naglfar were real good! Loved watching them...

FINNTROLL!!! sick as!!! Sooooooooooo packed and they were on the small stage. Got covered in mud during their set. They were really enjoyable. Left a little early to catch some Marduk who were on at the same time. They kicked arse too.

Overkill were a good show. Same goes for Samael. They finished their set at 3am. Pretty late.
Hatesphere were cool but the singer was a wank for paying out Nightwish and saying they suck (because they were on at the same time). Nightwish were cool, but got a little boring after a while.

Im trying to remember more, GOREFEST! really suprising how impressive they were!

Ill try and think of more in the meantime. All the bands were above standards.. all really tight and not one was disappointing.

You all missed an awesome festival. Definately going back next year. Hope the weather is better for it.

In Hamburg now.. leaving for London on Wednesday night.

Miss you all. Love you all!

:) xox Danni

Well 1 Euro 50 for an hour is ok...

I went on a walking tour for 8 hours yesterday in the puring rain. Got sooooooo drenched...
THEN I went to check out a local death metal band called Ars Mortis. So I trekked another hour in the rain and got drenched again. All my 2 pairs of shoes and pants are soaked. Had to do some washing.

The band was ok, but there was NO ONE there! It made me appreciate the Sydney scene. The one in Berlin sucks!

I guess thats why there are more fans loving the music, but less bands. The fans must be those ones that only really support the big bands, or international ones. That kinda sucks...

Staying with my brothers friend in Hamburg which is a big help, then meeting up with Melbourne Amy to do Denmark together. She has a friend there we´re staying with. Sounds awesome. THANKS TIM!!! :)

I really wanna just live in one of these cool German cities. Pity I cant speak the language. Might be a bit hard.

Anyway.. speak to you all soon. eNJOY STUFF!

D xox

In Berlin now. Going on an alllllll day walking tour tomorrow for 8 hours. Intense. Hopefully I get alot of information on this place. Go to see Hitler´s bunker or whats left of it.

This hostel has had such a big wrap, but Im really not getting into it. Its too big or something.

Im getting a bit bored or uneasy at this point. Its been such a long time seeing sites that they all blend in now and I just want to sleep and shop.

Itll be nice to stop somewhere for a while. Theres just so many tourists it seems like an organised tour of every city.

I reaaaaally want to go to Thailand sometime soon. So people start saving and we can all go as a big party/family. All you need is about 2 grand. Including the flight. Things are sooo cheap there. Like 4 bucks for a hotel room for the night and like 2 cents for drinks/food.

Anyway. Looking forward to London and checking it all out.

Not much else to report on really...
